CBTL Caff? Latte – Quick Recipe

I will be posting a separate post on how to make a latte with steamed milk, but this coffee recipe is a quick latte-like drink.? It’s good enough for me when I have 1 minute to make a cup of coffee on the run.

Ingredients

  • 1 CBTL’s Intenso Espresso Capsule
  • 1 cup of milk of your choice. I usually use Lactaid.. because… yeah. it’s sweet :)
  • Caramel or other syrup of your choice
  • 1 pack of sweetener – when I use Lactaid milk, I rarely use any sugar.

As I said, this is a quick recipe.? Pour your milk in a mug cup and microwave for 30-40 seconds.? Brew 1 capsule of your favorite CBTL’s espresso capsule. Add syrup and sugar into your espresso.? Then stir.? Take out your milk from the microwave and pour it into the espresso.? Stir gently.? That’s it!

Iced Caff? Latte

Iced Caffe Latte is actually very simple to make if you have an espresso machine at home.  I don’t have the machine, but I have a CBTL’s coffee brewer that can also brew espresso using a capsule.  It tastes awesome and the machine is very inexpensive.  So it takes me less than 5 minutes to make a perfect cup of iced Caffee Latte from home.  If you don’t have an espresso brewing machine, check out our brewed iced coffee recipe.

Ingredients :

  • 1 espresso (or make it 2)
  • 6 oz cold milk (or as much as you like)
  • coffee ice cubes
  • syrups as needed

Pour your favorite milk into a glass cup.? When your espresso is ready, pour it into the cup.? Please note that coffee ice cubes are not added yet.? You will be putting them the last, otherwise, the espresso will dilute.? In order to maintain the integrity of the taste of the espresso, use milk first, then espresso.

You may be tempted to use foamed milk on your iced coffee, but it’s not going to taste good.  If you still want to try, go ahead :)

Lastly, add syrup or sweeteners as needed.  I personally like to use Truvia and caramel syrup.

Brewed Iced Coffee

Previously, I posted a simple version of iced coffee using instant coffee. But let me show you how to make a great tasting iced coffee using your regular coffee brewer

Ingredients :

  • Fresh Ground Coffee – twice the normal amount
  • 8 cups of water
  • 4-8 coffee ice cubes – always have them prepared in your freezer!
  • Sugar or syrup – sweeten it with your favorite sweetener

How to Make Iced Coffee with Drip Brewer

  1. Make sure your brewer has enough space for double the amount of your normal coffee, otherwise, it will overflow
  2. Brew your double-strength coffee
  3. Cool your coffee at room temperature or put it in your freezer for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Prepare a glass cup and fill it with iced coffee cubes
  5. Sweeten your coffee as desired.

Few more tips on making iced coffee..? since I know how much sugar I need for my coffee, I add my sugar, Truvia, right after the coffee is brewed when it’s still hot.? That way, I know the sugar is perfectly dissolved in my coffee.? Another one is that I usually put my glass in the freezer for a few minutes after putting ice coffee cubes.? That makes the drink really chill when it’s served.

Lastly, after you are done with brewing, you are going to put another 4 cups of coffee and brew it again.? You will be using the leftover for making ice coffee cubes for later.? When ice cubes are made, make sure to store them in a ziplock.? Or your ice coffee cubes will taste/smell like whatever is in your freezer.

Starbucks VIA Ready Brew Coffee Review

As much as I love brewed coffee, I love instant coffees as much. My favorite is a Korean brand, which can be purchased only at a Korean market. It has creamer and sugar mixed in a pouch.

Mocha Frappe

Ingredients :

  • 18 Ice cubes (up to 22)
  • 7 oz Double strength coffee, chilled
  • 1/4 c Chocolate sauce (or syrup)
  • 2 T Vanilla Syrup
  • Whipped Cream (garnish)

How to Prepare :

  1. Place ice, coffee, chocolate sauce, and syrup in a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour into a large, tall (chilled) glass.
  4. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of your favorite ice cream.
  5. Makes one 16 oz frappe.
